Hi Robin, We will be sharing an agenda later this week but someone already asked if it was going to be three hours of presentations and no - it won’t be. The presentation will be approx 1-1:15 hours and it’s going to be interactive with some QA time and then a couple of stations set up with demos and the dev team there to answers question but will share later - it’s part of our promo plan for the event. Thanks

I’d love this to be updated! I’m sure lots of us would. I fear it’s a few months old now? @duncal @sonicblend - worth requesting in AMA?

Noted, thanks. I think we might do something different though because even this kind of comparison doesn’t really do Overledger justice but will figure out which kind of graph works best.

Question(s):

I'll try save the technical ones for a bit! "Are you guys looking to redo a more detailed roadmap for the next year or so?"

I'll try save the technical ones for a bit! "Are you guys looking to redo a more detailed roadmap for the next year or so?"
Yes - we will have a more detailed 2018 timeline to showed what we have achieved so far (for new people coming to the project) then a top line one for 2019 to show the big milestones we are working towards.

Question(s):

I've only got to 2pm today. We have to get to another client meeting in Moorgate
Quant Network

Any hints? 😏

Question(s):

"I would like to know more if Quant Network has plans to help facilitate cross-chain swaps, or if this is an exercise left to developers to implement (and possibly sell as a service in the mApp store)?"

Answer(s):

Luke
"I would like to know more if Quant Network has plans to help facilitate cross-chain swaps, or if this is an exercise left to developers to implement (and possibly sell as a service in the mApp store)?"
Yes we can faciliate cross-chain atomic swaps. We're thinking of providing this as a service for developers and enterprise to use in their applications or to create a true decentralised exchange. We're looking to apply for an FCA License in their Sandbox to get the regulatory approval to do this.

Question(s):

“When can we expect a fully proven, in production, and reference-able use case with any client? Reason: only 36% of the ‘top 100 projects’ have a working AND client used product/solution. So this reference-ability enables Quant to stand-out, ahead of moving into the ‘top 100’. "

Don't worry we will announce what we can. We are working closely with clients and looking for them to start talking about us and how we're solving their challenges.

Question(s):

"Can you explain the framework your building over at ISO and its importance for global adoption of blockchain technology? Can you describe how you intend for Overledger to be a part of these standards?"

Answer(s):

The ISO Standard is a global collaboration of 51 countries now to develop the Standard. We have teams of experts working on the different workstreams that make the Standard. We're involved in the Interoperability workstream (SG7) which I'm now chairing and 3 of our team are also part of SG7. We're helping by providing our expertise to develop the Layered Interoperability Framework

Question(s):

"Have you been in discussions about using overledger for security tokens? utilising QuantSentry etc for KYC and token purchase platform, the blockchain you mentioned you were creating for large data (possibly storage of files? for legal documents related to the security token) and utilising combination of public / private blockchains for determining ownership of tokens etc."

We haven't looked at this mainly due to regulatory licenses you need to work with Securities (including security tokens). We can once we apply for the FCA license.

Question(s):

"Hi Luke, a question for the next AMA: How will the businesses manage the QNT tokens needed for all their employees to use certain mapps. From a security point of view, will each employee have a wallet/own the keys, or will the business own them all and Quant team has some other mechanism which allows the business to provide distributed access."

We this as a way the IT team will manage it on their staff's behalf. It simplifies the process and removes friction for their employees.

Question(s):

"You previously mentioned you had been in talks with Cisco about integrating routing to blockchains into their switches. Has there been any progress on this? and have you been in talks with security vendors regarding integraation for your future plans of providing firewall functionality / IPS etc offering to blockchains?"

Answer(s):

We haven't caught up with Cisco since before summer to discuss further. But we are planning out our blockchain infrastructure projects which will sit on top of Overledger for enterprise and developers to use. We are architecting a blockchain firewall and IDS/IPS to provide enhanced security controls when using Overledger.

Answer(s):

Yes we have spoken to Accenture before they unveiled their interoperbility node at SIBOS. They said they are doing interoperability differently and nothing like us. The true difference is our approach, we've made it simpler by having a single gateway to access the underlying blockchains through Overledger. The Accenture approach requires you to spin up further infrastructure with your current blockchain infrastructure (permissioned or permissionless) to facilitate infrastructure. We've abstracted the complexity for enterprise to not do this and reduce the overhead needed in managing, implementing and supporting infrastructure to use blockchains. Like all enterpise projects, we'd like our clients to compare our technologies and approach and pick the right one that works best for their environment and use case. Every company in the world is not going to use the same technology

It's actually a new area for the Gartners of the world. We're possibly categorised at blockchain infrastructure. Don't know for sure until they finish their analysis

Question(s):

Hi, I have 2 questions: 1. Is there an ETA for the brand new roadmap? 2. What will the QuantX event consist of (announcements/discussion/or solely the launch of Overledger)?

Hi, I have 2 questions: 1. Is there an ETA for the brand new roadmap? 2. What will the QuantX event consist of (announcements/discussion/or solely the launch of Overledger)?
1. By the 20th November 2. QuantX is aimed at CIOs and technical folk working in enterprise. We're providing a deep dive on how Overledger works, the benefits to Enterprise and what's possible for developers. We're then providing a technical view of how MApps work and the inner-workings of Overledger live.

Question(s):

I read you’ve discussed with Samsung the overledger, Is Samsung still interested in possibly using the Overledger

Answer(s):

Josh
I read you’ve discussed with Samsung the overledger, Is Samsung still interested in possibly using the Overledger
Yes still in discussions. These are the types of companies we are looking to partner with. Companies of this scale that can take our technology global to all their customers. We're also discussed the same with NTT Data and have a few meetings over the next 2 weeks.

Question(s):

Quant Network
This is the type of approach we are building into the Treasury function. We have to solve this before the MApp Store which is for 1st half of 2019. We'll get this finalised and published before then.
Thanks. Do you have plans to attach additional utility to QNT? At the moment you are leaving the API open, so any protocol can plug in without holding QNT, correct? As you establish market position for Overledger would you consider making it a prerequisite to hold QNT before plugging in? An accelerator programme for new protocols/dapps would be good too (especially in london) wherein new projects receive a small grant from Quant and in return they airdrop a portion of their coins/tokens to holders of QNT.

Good question. The API (BPI) aren't open, it authenticates with QNT tokens. You need to hold QNT to use it. We are going to start with hackathons and have a competition to create the best new MApps (like we built the Decentralised Amazon across 3 chains) to win prizes. After that we want to have an accelerator which use Overledger as their platform to launch new MApps with our help. We've been discussing with UCL and others to do it jointly.

2 or possibly 3 by the end of the year.
Sounds good, but let me advise you on behave of crypto, please dont do HITBTC, many of crypto users/traders have had a problem with HITBTC, i dont know if they are cheaper to list, but just letting you know they cause problems

Gilbert, we know your developers time is very scarce, but would it be possible sometime down the track, for one of your developers to give us some time for some Coding discussions?
After QuantX, which we're showing the inner workings of MApps - we'll hold developer hackathons, meet-ups and webcasts for you to start learning how to develop MApps and ask us in person.

A community member mentioned that perhaps Overledger could assist a fellow Blockchain startup known as FarmaTrust. They are trying to solve logistical issues within the medical/health industry. Their community had been discussing Overledger.

We haven't come across this but are looking at Health on a wider scale. We really don't feel going into a crowded market of pharmaceutical supply chain is worth our while. There's a LOT of non-blockchain solutions that exist already and widely adopted.

We hope so if we can, but it may be slightly later, enterprises take their time as they're governed with lots of process

We want our clients to be out there talking about us publicly

Question(s):

There is a lot of talk about meeting with various companies/governments etc but how many of these are locked in partnerships? (Obviously without going into specifics)

We are not doing "partnerships" like crypto companies announce. We're only working real clients, we can announce our engagements if the client approves or they announce they're working with Quant. Our partners, are channel partners, who will be system integrators, consultancies and outsourcers who can take our technology to their customers globally.
