Question(s):

Answer(s):

1) The last 2 weeks have been quite busy for the teams. It's been travelling to 5 countries in the lat 5 weeks with client and partnership meetings

Question(s):

Question for #AMA Has the team reached out to Capco in helping them chalk out Overledger's use cases in RegTech /Trad finance?? Bonus points if the meeting with 11:FS (Simon Taylor) is still on the cards 😛

Answer(s):

2) We have spoken to Capco, one of our Advisors, Renier works there who is responsible for this space. We're working out how to potentially collaborate. Also aligning a time to meet with the 11:FS team, nothing confirmed and in the diary as yet

Question(s):

"Ethereum 2.0 seems to warrant a complete overhaul of Ethereum 1.0 Dapp contracts. Would Overledger be able to assist the transition to the next gen architecture through some sort of Mapp transition? Has the team been approached to do this?"

Answer(s):

3) Our mApps are essentially an upgrade of dApps to be multi-chain and agnostic and not worry about native blockchain forks, code changes, consensus changes. There's no stopping a dApp using Overledger to have a stable codebase and only run on 1 blockchain. It just means, Overledger as an OS, takes care of the heavy lifting. Makes it a whole lot simpler and more stable.

Question(s):

Maybe another question here: "Has the Quant team had any contact with Ontology through ISO TC 307?"

Answer(s):

4) No. A member of the ontology team were a very late addition to TC307 as part of the china delegation, they joined in May 2018. We founded ISO TC307 in 2015. There's about 500 people now part of the committee from all round the globe.

Question(s):

@sonicblend Regarding the FCA Sandbox have you had confirmation that you are in the cohort 5 group for testing? What sort of rough timelines would you expect to be able to achieve a FCA license?

Answer(s):

4) No update on this and haven't heard the outcomes of next cohort as yet.

Question(s):

I read that GoVerify allows people to verify and check that any email, SMS, letter or phone call received is legitimate and actually from the company they are sent from. Any plans to extend GoVerify to cover crypto, eg. Telegram ID, ETH address, BTC address, etc.

Answer(s):

5) GoVerify has a lot of use cases we're finding from client discussions. It's application is to very the sender of any communication to the receiver. It definitely can be used for the cryptospace!

Question(s):

Being very impressed with the speed and breadth of your Enterprise involvement / partnerships, have you and the team being developing these relationships much before the TGE in 2018? Also noteable that the idea for the project came back in 2015/2016 with the ISO Standard, at what stage did the code development begin?

Answer(s):

6) Yes. We have been working on this since 2015 since the inception of the idea that lead to Overledger and also to the ISO Standard TC307. We actually did our research and filed the Overledger patent in 2017 and started on the code. Some of the code was done beforehand for TrustTag in 2010 and then incorporated into 2017.

A lof of the relationships are a result of our background, experience and networks.

Question(s):

What Mapps are you planning on developing in the future first, any insight into priority/roadmap? Is GoVerify the only current Quant developed Mapp being deployed on Overledger?

Answer(s):

7) GoVerify is our only mApp so far. We have a roadmap of new ones we're building and releasing this year. The next one would be our distributed search engine

Question(s):

Congratulations on the recent news with Pay.Uk. Regarding your specific role as listed in the Press release - could you perhaps dumb it down for those of us not too familiar with corporate structuring, is this an intensive, full time role and are there many other Guarantors?

Answer(s):

8) Pay.UK is a way we can help the UK meet it's objectives to create a vibrant and innovative ecosystem. There are other Guarantors from different sectors and sizes. The idea is to make sure the strategy is on track, hold the board accountable, etc. The details are all on the Pay.UK site.

Question(s):

With regards to the EU Commission announcement in March, is this a venture likely to directly utilise the Overledger ecosystem?

Answer(s):

9) Possibly, can't really say right now. It's too early. But the plan is to implement projects, solutions to help deliver real world services for countries and citizens. It's not just a report writing outcome, it's tangible real world uses. This will all be published openly

Question(s):

A large focus point of interest within the community has been around the Treasury function. Understanding that you will be finalising the details later in the year, is there any chance you could walk us through your current thinkings on the following points?: - Could you please provide clarity on the role of the Treasury itself, does it simply act as a middleman between live open markets/OTC brokers or does it come from funds specifically held by the team? - With regards to licensing tokens being locked up until the end of the renewal period, what happens to any unnecessary tokens? Are they sold off into the open markets or are they absorbed by the team in the Treasury? If surplus tokens are absorbed by the team, does this not raise potential concerns for a concetration of team control over supply? - Do consumption fees (read/write/volume transactions) follow a similar process? As these do not have licensing periods, how are they removed from supply - if at all? - You've mentioned before that the Quant Treasury would be able to handle gas fees for the developer/user on an automated basis. Does this imply that the Treasury has some sort of Shapeshift like feature for promoting atomic swaps? If this is the case, would you be able to plug in other exchange's liquidity?" - Does the complexity of the Treasury require additional regulatory or money transmitting licensing? Thank you Gilbert.

Answer(s):

Good question. It's work in progress as explained. We feel we have the right framework and approach to get the model right that satisfies enterprise and community uses of Overledger.

We will publish more of thinking as we progress it.

Question(s):

How many of your clients are developing their own Mapps? Does this make up the majority, or are they leaning towards integrating Quant developed Mapps?

Answer(s):

Luke
How many of your clients are developing their own Mapps? Does this make up the majority, or are they leaning towards integrating Quant developed Mapps?
In our developer portal, we have a large number of developers and organisations that are actively using our SDKs and developing mApps. It's a mix of both, plus some of registered organisations are software development companies that are using Overledger to develop for their own clients.

Luke
How many of your clients are developing their own Mapps? Does this make up the majority, or are they leaning towards integrating Quant developed Mapps?
The other mix, is when we publish mApps or someone publishes a new mApp, then clients can purchase and use it as-a-service

Question(s):

In the Blockchain Brad interview you mentioned you will be releasing more client details before the end of Q1. Will this be an all inclusive list - if so how will this be announced? Or is it more tailored towards strategic, larger clients/partnerships? Do you get any push back from clients releasing this info?

Yes that's the plan. No we're not going to publish our deals pipeline. We will announce the clients and engagements we're working on jointly with clients and with joint agreement.

Question(s):

Are there any updates on the progress/timeline for the Bittrex USA approval?

Answer(s):

No update on Bittrex US. We're watching how things are progressing on exchanges based on volume and usage to determine the next steps. Right now we have delivered on our exchange strategy and given everyone the opportuntity to access the various exchanges we're listed on

Question(s):

Have you heard of the 'Game of Stakes' being conducted by Cosmos at the moment? Is Overledger going to undergo any stress testing of a similar manner within this fabric? How cool would it be to conduct an experiment with UCL students to pose different teams on different blockchains, with the goal of acquiring resources while also defending your chain from attack?

Answer(s):

Sounds interesting. But to be honest, we're more focused on delivering for enterprise and market need to divert the team's time to other things right now. We feel enterprise adoption helps test real world usage at scale.

Question(s):

You mentioned the ADC Summit again in the latest Brad interview. Has the dev hackathon for this event been confirmed? If so, are the general public allowed to attend the conference? (Some members including myself would love to come along)

Answer(s):

Yes we're sending a team to ADC Summit in Adelaide in March. Contestants will be able to use Overledger to build mApps to solve the challenges posed in the hackathon. Anyone can register and attend.

Question(s):

With the open source nature of the Overledger SDK, technically anyone can develop and structure their own Mapps. Does this raise any legal concerns with potential prohibited content running through your system? Are you privvy to these activites or are transactions through the system not accessible by a third party or yourselves?

Answer(s):

We've explained the architecture before, we are providing the rails to move data and value between different blockchains and existing systems. All transactions are owned, signed and encrypted by the senders/applications. We or any third party have no way of seeing any transaction's data or tamper with it. This is the same approach that financial market and payment infratructure is architected and operates.

Question(s):

You have previously referenced the priority for chain connectors is based upon client demand. How does the IOTA connection fit into the picture/what were the driving factors behind connecting IOTA? Are you expecting their dominance to rise in the space?

Answer(s):

There's a huge push with IoT and the rise of 5G. We're seeing the market trends and preparing for what's coming. We're adding blockchains based on what the market demands and now being part of MOBI helping bring DLT to IoT, autonomous vehicles, mobility is the time time for us to be supporting this space.

Question(s):

Cuscal Payments seem to be a large player in Australia for settlement, particularly with your current involvement in Australia, is there any possible collaboration or competition to be found here?

Answer(s):

Cuscal have been around for a while in Aus. The payments landscape there is just starting to open up to foster innovation, open banking and a better services for consumers. We're looking at this space very carefully from the meetings we had with Data61. Good opportunity for us to explore more and make a business decision.

Question(s):

Are Quant setting up any grass roots efforts by providing funding/grants to universities, etc. ?

Answer(s):

We already do. We partner with UCL and have an ongoing relationship and collaboration. We've taken on paid interns too. We're looking at other universities to continue this now.

Question(s):

You mentioned a while ago that you received calls from US Homeland Security and DARPA. Did these relationships ever develop?

Answer(s):

We spoke to DHS in 2018. We pushed back on the work as the timing wasn't right back then. Coming from Government these things do take a lot of time, things are progressing but we're responding to other Government calls including the DARPA ones.

Question(s):

Is Quant Network in talks with EFPIA consortium regarding Overledger and ISO TC307 standard? Thank you!

Answer(s):

EFPIA is specific to Pharmaceuticals. We as a company are working in the private and public healthcare sectors and Pnarmaceuticals separately do have staff who are part of the 500+ TC307 members for their countries.

Question(s):

What is the most exciting thing upcoming for Quant this year? Do you foresee mass adoption of Blockchain coming to life this year?

Answer(s):

Luke

We feel that blockchain adoption is going to be lead by Enterprise leadership. The appetite is there to benefit from the technology by using DLT to create new business models, products and services. Our job is help Enterprise make the decision to adopt DLT easily and provide them the tools to simplify the adoption and integration into their corporate systems. By Enterprises innovating on DLT, consumers will benefit and mass adoption will happen because of the reach and scale of companies.

Question(s):

By @Yazman100 : Hey Gilbert, there have been a lot of newcomers lately who may be overwhelmed with the information in the crypto space already, let alone all the info youve shared over the past months. If you could sumarise for your average crypto investor precisely what type of level of attainment and integration Quant Network are seeking to achieve and in which verticals that would be really useful. Thanks.

Answer(s):

We're working heavily int he Enterprise space, specifically in Financial Services, Healthcare and Supply chain, IoT, Government and Telecoms sectors. We're not going to say no to a cusomter who's not in those sectors.

Question(s):

Thanks again for taking the time to answer our questions! Before you leave is there anything you wanted to add or discuss? Any new developments or exciting oppurtunities? Thank you.

Answer(s):

Sure, we have a number of upates that are in the works that will all be revealed in Q1. Regarding our multi-cloud strategy, we have been given access to the new cloud partner's environment and are busy deploying our technology on there. An announcement should come out in Feb they said. This will allow over 480,000+ of their enterprise customers have access to our technology. We're also starting to collaborate with another large cloud provider to be a partner of theirs which will also open up our tech to their clients and marketplace

We have a lof of client work we're doing which will be public in Q1. We're excited to tell you more as they occur. Plus we're expanding the team in our different locations to help meet this demand. Quite an exciting year ahead!
